Guys…it’s not racist. Obama has flying monkey ears. I do too and I’m a white chick. They’re making fun of his ear shape, not his skin tone. I’ve seen pictures of Bush done this way too, with Bush as a monkey. Chill your fucking jets.

I’m sorry, but what planet do you come from where black people haven’t been called monkeys/apes for centuries (even going as far as using ‘science’ to prove that Blacks are a type of monkey) as a way to demean them? And if it’s not racist then why did he feel the need to add “I’m sorry”? Defending racism is just as bad as saying that shit yourself.

As I already addressed from my ask box, I went and Googled it. I see what you guys are talking about, really I do. But it is EXACTLY the same thing. I’ve seen that photo get passed around multiple times and everyone I know who has personally shown it to me has not found it funny because Obama is black. They find it funny because of Obama’s giant ears and how opposite his policies are compared to Reagan’s. Also, fuck you people, I am an adult, and I can vote, and I can think for myself instead of drinking the same Kool-Aid you people consume on a daily basis. I’m going to leave this up until Monday, and then I’m deleting my Tumblr. I can’t deal with how many stupid people there are here who can’t take a joke, and immediately thinks a joke is racist if the subject is anything but white, even if the joke has absolutely nothing to do with color. You people need to grow up yourselves. But I’m not going to stay here to watch it. 

I just wanna reblog this response as a very valuable lesson that people of color learn very early in life: It’s not true unless the white person says it is. I mean, anyone who has a decent grasp on history would tell you that comparing a Black person to a monkey/primate/etc is NEVER, let’s repeat that NEVER, OKAY. Not even a smidgen of a bit. Would you like to know why? Blame science.

That’s right, folks. When race was still considered biologically determined, many scientists, both in hard and soft sciences, worked very hard to prove the inferiority of anyone who wasn’t white. So what did they do? With the help of cranioloogy, they went around comparing skull size since skull size (apparently) directly correlated with brain size. They “found” (through a shit-ton of finagling) that those skulls of Africans were about the same size as chimpanzees, which led to the conclusion that Africans were not smarter than Caucasoid folk. Thusly, African = not human. See how that works? You can find this info on Wikipedia. But those are facts and, apparently, facts don’t mean much in the grand (White) scheme of things. *sigh*
