We [white people] have done nothing but try to right the wrongs of our ancestors.
Knit Me A Pony: Status Message Here: A quick message to my fellow white folks
Most of you have read about Troy Davis. I’m sure a lot of you have a lot of feelings about this.
I’d like to ask you a favor: just for today, shut the fuck up.
Seriously.
I don’t mean don’t try to help. By all means, call the judge, call the governor, do everything that we’re told will help…
How about you shut the fuck up and stop making everything about race? He’s not black, he’s a HUMAN BEING… he has rights because he was born on this earth, not because of his skin color.
Wow. Way to miss the WHOLE fucking point.
Whiteness: Conveniently obfuscating and simplifying to avoid owning ANY responsibility since 1492.
I don’t think he’s obfuscating purposefully, and he has a good point, though he is seriously mislead. You all really need to learn to teach instead of immediately condemn. You’re not going to change things by screaming at everyone who doesn’t understand the subject as well as you do. Are you all forgetting that you’re all white, too? That seems to be the big elephant in the room. I absolutely agree with you that this is about race, and that whoever denies that is seriously mislead. But you all need to change your attitudes if you ever want to help anyone earn equality anywhere.
This mothafucka just said “EARN EQUALITY…”
Equality is not EARNED. It is a human RIGHT, straight up put into the Declaration of Independence as well as the fucking CONSTITUTION.
And NO, we do not have to teach your ignorant asses ANYTHING. PERIOD. The fact that you and so many other white folks refuse to take the initiative and learn for your damn selves despite ALL OF THE GODDAMN RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO YOU tells me all I need to know about you.
And NO, NONE of the folks who have replied are white. And you know what, if they WERE white, the point would STILL fucking stand, because it is WHITE PEOPLES RESPONSIBILITY to end racism. It is WHITE PEOPLES RESPONSIBILITY to take down white privilege.
And the fact that you come in here with your derailing for dummies bullshit about how we uppity folks need to “be nice??”
Or when people tell you it’s not about you, you should shut the fuck up and LISTEN. There’s that little tidbit. Listening is half the battle. Listening can very well lead to learning and often does! Imagine that! Sooooo, maybe instead of telling people that WE should teach YOU, you could do us a solid and shut the fuck up….and maybe, just maybe you can learn something. Just think of it as eavesdropping, since people like to think they are entitled to other people’s shit. That way, you can be an asshole and learn something once in a while. Y/y?
White kids? I need y’all to listen.
We are not all Troy Davis.
This would not happen to us.
No, cork it and let that settle in for a second. This would not happen to us in this country and in this “justice” system and in this white supremacist culture that lets us think it’s the appropriate progressive response to stomp out feet about Not! Being! Racist! at this or any moment. Save your stories of unjustly accused white people, this is not the same at all. You mourn this man and you mourn the rotted soul of a nation that can allow this exact pattern of violence to carry through centuries, but do not for a second think it makes any sort of sense to co-opt this moment.
We are not all all Troy Davis.
This would not happen to us.

Bootstraps and racism.
That’s a sucky analogy. I guess it’s supporting affirmative action? Look, the people still riding the success their ancestors had during the slavery period (they’re ever thinning) would have an advantage whether we had affirmative action or not. Affirmative action targets the borderline applicants to colleges and jobs…and favors minorities. Those with the unfair step aren’t borderline. The applicants are on equal ground and do have equal opportunity. Yet the minority gets preference. Still reverse discrimination.
Uhhhhhhhh… white people are riding on the privilege left over from slavery and extreme racism.
Affirmative action seeks to even out the playing field: because of racist and impacts still felt from racist laws, racial minorities are often in lower socioeconomic groups than white people. Being in a lower socioeconomic group often means living in worse neighborhoods and going to worse schools. Racial inequalities are not over, and denying their existence will only perpetuate their existence.
No offense. But I’m more or a minority in todays society than most african americans and women. Because I’m a 20-something white male I get passed over for jobs sometimes based solely on my skin color because of affirmative action. Now obviously there’s still parts of the world out there where these minorities are still on bottom but those are few and far between. I mean come the fuck on. We’ve got an african american president. So I think it’s time to drop the whole woe is me thing. Not to mention Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcom X would roll over in there graves if they saw the way most african americans acted. Yeah, you can blame that partly on the educational system in lower income areas. But I don’t see many rappers spreading there wealth around to help inner-city african americans realize there true potential. Instead they spew shit about bitches and hoes and making that green. It’s no surpirse why most inner-city african americans act they way they act. Look at the people they idolize.
^^^ LOL OMG WHAT
so. much. fail.

What would you do?
If you were going through your friend’s facebook pictures and you saw this picture? Like, someone who you just added? What would you say? THIS JUST HAPPENED TO ME.
What should he do?
Are white kids just not learning about racism in school? Because I can’t understand this shit!
I dunno what I’m more pissed about: the black face or the rat in the middle acting like shit ain’t wrong

White male privilege. SUCKS!
There is a lot of stereotyping that goes unrecognized by the mass population. One such stereotype is the one for white males and how we are so privileged. I’m not going to cry about being the most privileged per say but I will argue the downsides since they are never looked at or even thought about. I guess you could consider me a cis-male as I fit into my gender role to a large degree. There is great responsibility with the role. I am expected in every group setting to do the talking, initiating, planning, and trying to make everyone happy. The worst part about having all of this responsibility is that everyone expects you to preform or else the whole group will come down on you. It never matters if you want to be the leader, you are expected to. I’m always put into awkward social situations where I have to be the one expected to hit on the hot girls out of the group killing the excitement. Responsibility to preform is the hardest thing to live up to when society expects it and never praises it.
Oh my God, you didn’t …
is he trolling?
No, he is not. He is just unaware of what he doesnt understand

“The White Way”
so much truth i can’t take it!!!!
TW: Racial epithets.
Truth bombs exploding everywhere.

A WOC director, Kenyan Wanuri Kahiu will be directing the sci-fi/fantatasy film “Who Fears Death” based on Nnedi Okarafor novel of the same name.
Here is the facebook page let’s support please
Support please, because she’s not going to get on the fucking Daily Show.
Yeah, we need to support because if it took GEORGE FUCKING LUCAS 23 years, it’s gonna take a fucking lifetime for any minority ever in everdom. This is a fucking mess. Hollywood, go fuck yourself.
I find this very amusing
All of these white people are complaining about how “reverse racist” the various “Shit White People Say to POC” videos about are.
But aren’t white people the same folks who demand on a regular basis that people of color instruct them on what to say/what not so say to people of color? Aren’t white people always asking for examples of the racist shit they say on a regular basis?
And now that people of color have thrown their own shit back at them, showing them EXACTLY how fucking racist they are, they wanna cry white tears and shit?
You got what you fucking asked for. Don’t open your damn mouth telling people of color to “stop being so reverse racist!!!” when you get told the truth about yourselves. So to all y’all whining and white tears:

“What’s Race Got To Do With It??”
What kills me is how the white folks pussyfoot about how much whiteness gives them privilege and power.
One white woman pretty much goes “Whiteness is a blessing… I wouldn’t be anything else BUT white….”

“White privilege: Being white, speaking about racism, and being taken more seriously than a person of color would be, regardless of the fact that you will never be a victim of racism.”

Things non PoC have taught me since I became more vocal about racism:
1. Speaking about the Holocaust in any context other than educational is downright immoral, 9/11 needs a trigger announcement and a disclaimer if you discuss it in public but the murder of over 30 million Africans is OLD NEWS that I need to just drop and get over.
2. In History class, no one complained that the exercises of reenacting the proletariat & bourgeoisie were unfair, segregationist and no one’s parents called the school the next day to enquire as to why the History teacher was teaching kids to be separatist. But when Jane Elliot wants to use exercises to illustrate in ONE hour the daily turmoil and abuse that PoC suffer, she’s accused of teaching biased, guilt ridden, “reverse racism”.
3. The abolishment of slavery made everyone equal, so there’s no such thing as white privilege. Even these hard facts (seriously, read them) that prove otherwise MUST be fiction, because my 4th grade science teacher told us that we’re all the same on the inside.
4. Even though companies, governments and educational institutions have forums and means of communicating issues in terms of unfair treatment, even though taking those outlets away would be a breach of human rights.. PoC shouldn’t talk about race and their issues pertaining to it because it starts arguments and disrupts the colour blind Hakuna Matata circle.AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
5. The fact that a) we still receive abuse today, b) my ancestors for at least two centuries are largely products of rape, c) my ancestors were butchered and enslaved in the millions, d) slave women had their newborns & toddlers stolen, fed LIVE to alligators and then were forced to keep quiet about it, etc (because the list goes ON and ON) … has no relevance to my self worth, the esteem within our communities or our chances for success today WHATSOEVER because the Oprah made it and the President is Black.
I haven’t seen a group of people this opposed to the oppressed joining together to demand equal and fair treatment since.. Oh.
Right.
This needs all the reblogs.
And all hand claps.
Bless you, OP.
